Michael Tibby contested the Constituency of Dartford at the 2005 General Election , receiving 1,224 votes (the elected Labour MP , Howard Stoate , received 19,909 votes).

Michael Tibby and Austen Brooker are councillors on Dartford Borough Council, representing Littlebrook (which is a 2-seat ward) and Newtown (a 3-seat ward). Tibby came 2nd in Littlebrook in the 2003 local elections, beating the second Labour Party candidate by 5 votes. Austen Brooker was elected as one of three Labour party councillors for Newtown, but left the group soon after his election.

New England Party is affiliated to the English Democrats and shares many of its policies, and works as the Dartford, Kent Branch of the English Democrats.
