Under its mandate, the institute offers a larger number of Clinical Trials that were not previously available without the support of a large research center. This includes the first Level I clinical trials conducted in Nevada. The lobby contains a Dale Chihuly blown glass, chandelier. HISTORY In 2002 The Howard Hughes Corporation donated 5 acres of land for the institue's first permanent building. The land was in the middle of a 61 acre site. In 2003 , ground was broken for the institute's initial 142,000 square foot research facility located in Summerlin South . The facility was designed by Marnell Corrao Associates that is better know for designing many of the Megaresort s on the Las Vegas Strip . The Institute opened an office in Sparks , Nevada The institute opened its new Flagship facility in August, 2005 , which was built at a cost of $53 million. The Grand Opening was on September 23 , 2005 with a Vegas style Firework s display. In October of 2005, the institute acquired an additional 10 acres adjacent to its current site for future expansion. In January of 2006, the institute announced plans to work with the City of Las Vegas to acquire about 20 acres of land in the city for future use. SERVICES EXTERNAL LINKS |
