The city of Darjeeling (in West Bengal ) is a musical center for Nepali rock. From the 1960s to the 80s , the city was home to a vibrant musical scene. Late in the 80s, however, with the Gorkhaland movement's spread, the city's music scene declined. It has since resurged, with a new wave of bands like Mantra .
