Nebraska Congressional Districts




Nebraska currently has three Congressional Districts .


CURRENT DISTRICTS



First District

The first District seat encompasses most of the eastern quarter of the state. It includes the state capital, Lincoln , Fremont , Norfolk , Beatrice and South Sioux City . It is currently held by Jeff Fortenberry , a Republican .


Second District

The second District seat encompasses the core of the Omaha Metropolitan Area . It includes all of Douglas County, Nebraska and the urbanized areas of Sarpy County . It is currently held by Lee Terry , a Republican .


Third District

The third District seat encompasses the western three-fourths of the state; it is one of the largest non-at-large Congressional districts in the country. It includes Grand Island , Kearney , Hastings , North Platte , Scottsbluff and Columbus . It is currently held by Tom Osborne , a Republican .

Census Bureau population growth estimates indicated that Nebraska will likely lose its third District seat after the 2010 or the 2020 Census .
