The Village of Naples is in the Town Of Naples . Naples is in the center of an important grape-growing region. HISTORY The village was first settled around 1790. The village was incorporated in 1894 . GEOGRAPHY Naples is located at 42°36'57" North, 77°24'9" West (42.616047, -77.402601). According to the United States Census Bureau , the village has a total area of 2.5 Km&2 (1.0 Mi&2 ). None of the area is covered with water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 1,072 people, 453 households, and 284 families residing in the village. The Population Density was 422.3/km&2 (1,097.3/mi&2). There were 500 housing units at an average density of 197.0/km&2 (511.8/mi&2). The racial makeup of the village was 98.60% White , 0.00% Black or African American , 0.00% Native American , 0.56% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.47% from Other Races , and 0.37% from two or more races. 1.21% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 453 households out of which 31.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.3% were Married Couples living together, 13.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.3% were non-families. 32.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.37 and the average family size was 2.98. In the village the population was spread out with 26.8% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 25.0% from 45 to 64, and 16.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 94.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 83.4 males. The median income for a household in the village was $34,219, and the median income for a family was $42,841. Males had a median income of $34,107 versus $21,563 for females. The Per Capita Income for the village was $16,067. 13.2% of the population and 12.0% of families were below the Poverty Line . 18.0% of those under the age of 18 and 17.4% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
