Information About

Mount Anville Secondary School

It was established in 1853 by nuns of the Order of the Sacred Heart in the former home of Mr. William Dargan , an influential railway tycoon.

It is also a good sporting school, especially in hockey, tennis and netball. Many former students have gone on to play for Ireland at the international level. In addition to academics and sport, the school participates in charity work, art, music, and drama.

Mount Anville has a relationship with the nearby boys' school Blackrock College , often staging dramatic presentations and concerts together.

Attending Mount Anville is associated with affluence and students receive a well rounded education amongst the elite of the southside.
