Secondary School in
Mount Albert ,
Auckland . It was founded in
1922 as a subsidiary of
Auckland Grammar School , but now the two schools are governed separately. Mount Albert Grammar School is co-educational, becoming so in 2001. Junior classes are mostly single-sex while senior classes are mostly co-educational. There are six Grammar schools in Auckland -- Auckland Girls Grammar, Auckland Grammar, Epsom Girls Grammar, Mt Albert Grammar, Mt Roskill Grammar and Takapuna Grammar -- the first 3 are single sex, and the last 3 are co-educational.
As of
12 April 2006 Dale Burden is the Principal of the school. He replaces Greg Taylor, who was headmaster for 18 years. The Associate Principal is yet to be announced.
