Montana New Zealand Book Awards




The two main prizes in this event are the ''Deutz Medal'' for fiction and poetry works, and the ''Montana Medal'' for non-fiction works. The ''Reader's Choice'' prize is awarded through a readership-wide vote. The ''First Book'' prizes are awarded to first time authors.

''Booksellers New Zealand'' manages the Montana New Zealand Book Awards. The Awards main sponsors are ''Montana Wines'' and ''Creative New Zealand''. Other supporters include the ''Book Publishers Association of New Zealand'', the ''New Zealand Society of Authors'' and ''Book Tokens (NZ) Ltd''.
