Information About

Mobile Artillery Command Unit

The MACU features a veritable cornucopia of modern weapons technologies. Its standard operational configuration includes a pair of 170mm Howitzers and SAM batteries mounted on the dorsal side. In addition to these elements, there are mounted M2 .50 cal. and M60 7.62mm machine guns for either of the two pilots. Recently, reports indicate that two stainless steel retractable blades have been mounted at the torso area. Their use is unknown, but it is assumed that they will spin.

The MACU also maintains battlefield awareness through the latest in surveillance capabilities. These naturally include F/R RIR, GXR Vision, periscopes, and standard RADAR. In addition, when mission parameters require LASER designation ability for coordination with air support, the MACU is fully prepared to answer the challenge.

Japan has recently initiated an effort to streamline its own form of the MACU with some considerable success. Tarps vaguely resembling the general shape of the MACU have been spotted in various locations throughout Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan.
