Mixed teams, consisting of competitors from different nations, were allowed at the Games of the first three Olympiads. In the inaugural 1896 Summer Olympics , the only sport which had any non-individual events was tennis. Men's doubles tennis was offered in 1896. Two all-Greek pairs and three mixed teams entered, with the mixed teams winning the three top spots. TENNIS Mixed teams won all three medals in the first modern Olympic Games. |
