The Mexico Tigers (los Tigres del Mexico) are a Mexican Minor League Baseball team located in Puebla , Mexico . They are in the Southern Division (Zona Sur) of the Mexican Baseball League . The Mexican Devils (Diablos Rojos del Mexico) are their hated rival. The club is regarded as one of the most prestigious baseball franchises in the Mexican Baseball League. The franchise was founded in 1955 by Alejo Peralta Y Díaz Cevallos an industrial businessman who was an avid baseball fan. Shockingly, the team obtained the championship on its first season a feat that has never been matched. Founded: 1955, as the Tigres del Mexico franchise in the Mexican League. Home Ballpark: Parque del Seguro Social (1955 - 1999), Foro Sol (2000 - 2002), Parque Hermanos Serdan (2002-Present) Mascot: Chacho the Tiger "Chacho el Tigre", the most famous mascot in the history of the Mexican League. Uniform colors: White, black vertical stripes, black hat, and white sox. Logo design: A tiger encaged in a letter "M" trying to escape facing sideways. FRANCHISE HISTORY On April 14, 1955 the Tigres made their debut at Julio Molina's Baseball park in Merida , Yucatan . Their innagural game represented the hard determination of its founder the great entrepreneur Don Alejo Peralta Y Díaz Cevallos to support the sport that by then was submerged in a financial crisis. CHAMPIONSHIPS :Championships (9): 1955 , 1960 , 1965 , 1966 , 1992 , 1997 , 2000 , 2001 , 2005 50TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON In comemoration of the first 50 years of its foundation an alternate logo was designed. Tigres played their 50th season relying only on mexican players, and that made the championship more significant. Furthermore, the 2005 season was named "Ing.
