Access components usually refer the CPUs in the multi-processor system. However there is memory arbiter also in the single processor system to synchronize accesses between CPU and DMA controller. As we go to the multi-core and multi-processor system, it is more likely that this component becomes a bottleneck. Therefore more research is expected for the efficiency of this hardware. |
