Meadow Lane




Nicknamed the San Sirrel , it has a Capacity of 20,300 and lies on the north bank of the Trent just three hundred yards away from the City Ground , the home stadium of Nottingham Forest . The two grounds are the closest football grounds in England .

The ground was opened in 1910 with a league game between Notts County and Nottingham Forest. The game ended 1-1 in front of a crowd of around 28,000.

The record attendance at "The Lane" (as it's affectionatly known by supporters) was 47,310 who saw Notts lose 1-0 to York City in the FA Cup in 1958 .

Following the publication of the Taylor Report , Notts County announced the redevelopment of the stadium would begin in 1992 . Three new stands were opened in time for the 1992-93 season with a new Main Stand following in 1994 .
