After a childhood spent in Jaffna learning the trade of his father, a local Ayurvedic doctor, he took to a life of religion and philosophy. He soon became known as Shri Mayan-ji to his disciples, and the philosophy still lives on as imported by some members of the Tamil community to the United Kingdom . |
