Powers was released on February 10 1962 with a prisoner exchange. In October of 1962, U-2 surveillance flights produced photographs of evidence of the installation of Soviet missiles in Cuba. The plane continued to fly until 1992, when a U-2 plane on its routine reconnaissance mission was reported lost over south Korea. |
