She was born in Berkshire , England to a poor family and went to work at an early age. After a series of odd jobs, she went to London where she housed with a shopkeeper, with whom she shortly became intimate. After giving birth to a stillborn, she threatened to inform the shopkeeper's wife unless he gave her money. The scheme was terminated when the man confessed to his wife of his behaviour. Soon, Mary was left with few prospects and an exceedingly modest estate. She began working as a Prostitute and at some point she stole a sum of money from one of her clients. For this crime, she was soon arrested and ultimately Execute d. REFERENCE
