The album was poorly received by critics. It was an abrupt departure from her hit 1993 album, '' When I Was A Boy '' -- instead of that album's sophisticated Pop , ''Maria'' was a Jazz album. It was also her first album not to include any musical contributions from longtime collaborators such as Ken Myhr , John Switzer and Rebecca Jenkins . In addition, the final track on the album, "Oh My My", was a 20-minute meditation on lost innocence which closely resembled the teachings of 12-step Program s such as Alcoholics Anonymous , and included passages quoted from " Puff The Magic Dragon " and " Mary Had A Little Lamb ". Critics had often labelled Siberry as quirky, but this was the first track in her discography to be widely considered outright ''flaky''. The album was not a chart success, either in Canada or internationally. It was her last major label album. In 1996 , Siberry started her own independent record label, Sheeba Records , and has released all of her subsequent recordings on that imprint.
