The article claimed that in 1999 Dr Alexander Chuvyrov of the Bashkir State University in Russia discovered a three-dimensional map of Siberia on a rock, while investigating a hypothesised ancient Chinese migration through the Urals . He named the rock containing the map after his newborn daughter Dashka. This rock weighed approximately one metric ton, and measured 1.48 meters high, 1.06 meters around, and 16 cm thick. It was composed of three layers. His studies suggested that it was of artificial origin, (made using unknown high-precision technology) and that it represented the region of Bashkortostan as it was 120 million years ago, showing highly developed irrigation systems (and implying that the current river Balaya was originally artificial). The elements of the Dashka stone were analyzed by the Center for Historical Cartography of Wisconsin, which concluded among other things that only an aerial survey could have allowed the construction of the map.
