Manchester Central is a Constituency represented in the House Of Commons of the Parliament Of The United Kingdom . It elects one Member Of Parliament (MP) by the First Past The Post system of election.

BOUNDARIES

This is not the safest seat in Manchester for Labour anymore, probably because of considerable redevelopment in the City Centre which has led to much expensive high-rise, yuppie-type housing attracting young and well-off professionals, who vote Liberal Democrat. But the working-class suburbs around the centre like Hulme , Beswick , Clayton , and the troubled Moss Side district, keep it safely in the Labour camp. The seat has traditionally one of the lowest voting turnouts in UK General Elections .
