Second Avenue (often referred to as '''Lower East Side–Second Avenue''') is an express station on the IND Sixth Avenue Line of the New York City Subway . Located at Second Avenue , Chrystie Street, and Houston Street on the Lower East Side, Manhattan , it is served by the and trains, the latter of which terminates here on the express tracks. At the southern end of the station, there are structural provisions for the construction of the Second Avenue Line , as well as for track connections to the South Fourth Street Line of the IND Second System .
