HISTORY Sogo African Traditional Music & Dance Ltd. is an international organisation taken by our level of performances and experience. Formed some fifteen years ago for the propagation of African Cultural Values and promoting African Heritage both home and abroad. After registering the group five years ago, we have had tremendous progress in the areas of International engagements, festivals, workshops and symposiums. Firstly in 2002,the group attended GALA DEL FOLKLORE FESTIVAL in Mesina-Italy. After which we had a tour from Southern Messina to the Northern Berigamo, performing in twenty-four cities in twenty-eight days. Then come 2003, we moved to Sid mouth Festival, Derbyshire, where we excelled so well to the admiration of the audiences and we got called to Royal festival hall (rfh) to exhibit our talent the admiration of the waiting audiences. From there we got a pending festival contract for the following year. In 2004, starting from May 2nd – 10th, we moved to Belgium to perform in Labadoux Music festival, which parades the like of legendary Peter Torsh Band. Later in July 14th –August 27th, we went back to Italy for another wonderful tour of CITAREALE (Central Italy), Roma, Termoli, Alatri, Barcelonese Mango, and Gravina in Puglia etc. In May 2005, we were invited to Palma de Marloca-Spain, for an international festival and just after that from July 29th –August 7th,we moved to the United Kingdom to perform in Alnwick international music festival-North-umber land - Newcastle.From 11th to 29th of September,we performed at 54th International music festival, Togo. AT HOME We have performed to the admiration of home audiences at Busy Internet second Birthday Bash, International Maritime Organisation (imo) Afrikaenbals International packaging Exhibition, Alliance Francaise, Buzz (mobitel-draw), Shangri-La Hotels, Libya-Arab Cultural center, International Jazz Festival -Dubois center-Accra. Etc. THE AIMS & OBJECTIVES To propagate African Traditional Music & Dance to the outside world and to Organize workshops / Seminars / Teaching in all Tertiary and secondary schools, also to professionals and non-professionals, both home and abroad.
