The Long Beach Jam, an expansion team in the new American Basketball Association , were coached in their inaugural season by Earl Cureton . Former members include Dennis Rodman , Derrick Dial , Juaquin Hawkins , and Yuta Tabuse , all former NBA players, and DerMarr Johnson , who is currently with the Denver Nuggets . In May 2005, the Long Beach Jam withdrew from the American Basketball Association, citing a lack of stability and structure within the league. As a result, they have applied for admission to the NBA Development League for the 2006-07 season. The team will relocate to Bakersfield . They were the ABA champions in 2004. EXTERNAL LINK |
