Prenylation is the attachment of lipid chains to proteins to facilitate their interaction with the Cell Membrane . Some important prenylation chains are Geranylgeraniol , Farnesol and Dolichol , all products of the HMG-CoA Reductase Metabolic Pathway . Other anchors include the GPI Anchor (see there). |
