Tiring of the political and intellectual gulfs between herself and her husband, Countess Linda decided she would prefer if her were dead. Her brother, Tullio agreed to do the deed. Also involved in the plot were Linda's old lover, Dr. Carlo Secchi and Tullio's mistress, Rosina Bonetti. It was decided that Rosina would seduce the Count. She lured him into the bedroom where the rest were hiding. They attacked him with whatever sharp implement was available. He died with at least fifteen stab marks all over his body.
