Leo purchased the Montreal Canadiens in 1921 . He would own the team until 1947 . In between, the Canadiens would win five Stanley Cup s. He would help the team bring in Howie Morenz , Aurel Joliat , and Georges Vezina . After that team grew old in the 1930 s, Leo would rebuild the team to further success with players like Maurice Richard , Bill Durnan , Toe Blake , and Elmer Lach . Leo was inducted into the Hockey Hall Of Fame in 1963 . |
