( レディアン ''Redian'' in
Japanese , '''Coxyclaque''' in
French , in
German ) is a
Fictional Character from the
Pokémon franchise. It is #166 in the
National Pokédex .
Ledian's name is a misspelling of "
Ladybug ". It also appears to incorporate "
Alien " into its name, owing to its head which appears similar to
Greys .
It uses the light of the
Star s as a form as energy, hence, Ledian are
Active During The Night . During the day, Ledian find leaves to curl up and sleep in.
Ledian are physically affected by stars. The spots on its back grow larger or smaller depending on how many stars are in the sky. The spots each represent a corner of a
Star shape. When many stars are visible, the Ledian will sprinkle a mysterious, glowing powder. As Ledian rely on the stars, they tend to live in clean areas free of pollution and in rural areas where
Light Pollution does not affect the visibility of the stars.
Ledian first appears in ''
Pokémon Gold And Silver ''. It can only be obtained by evolving Ledyba. In ''
Pokémon FireRed And LeafGreen '', Ledyba can be caught in the Pattern Bush.
In ''
Pokémon Colosseum '', Ledian can be snagged from Cipher Peon Kloak.
Ledian has horrendous ''Attack'' stats, which is most unfortunate, as Ledian learns mostly physical attacks. Ledian can learn ''Baton Pass'', a useful attack which allows the user to pass its stat increases (or deductions) to other Pokémon. When Ledian increases its stats with its ''Agility'' and ''Swords Dance'' attacks, they can be passed on to a team-mate. ''Substitute'' can also be passed.
Ledian first appears in the episode ''"Mountain Time"''. The Ledian is being used by its owner to test the wind gusts in a valley. Naturally, Team Rocket attempts to capture the Ledian.
Ledian has appeared in several sets in the ''
Pokémon Trading Card Game ''. These sets include:
- ''Neo Genesis''
- ''Neo Destiny'' (as ''Light Ledian'')
- ''Skyridge''
- ''EX Team Rocket Returns''
