Information About

Latino College Preparatory Academy

Latino College Preparatory Academy (LCPA) is one of the East Side Union High School District's charter schools, specializing in providing a college preparatory environment for nearly 400 high school students from Spanish-speaking homes.

The school -- which features home-cooked Mexican meals for all students, an extensive library and a huge scholarship endowement that sends nearly 100 percent of its graduates to neighboring National Hispanic University -- is led by Principal Jesse Barajas.

It's school newspaper is ranked among the best in the state, and its poetry club competes in events around Silicon Valley. The boy's soccer team won the CCS championship; the women were the league champions.

Carla Estrada runs its student government with a political party, GreenCP, dedicated to improving student events. The school's junior class is its best ever.
