As this is a duplication of Galangal INTRODUCTION Laos powder is used in Asian/Thai cooking, however you'll have difficulty finding it in the West. It is actually the Indonesian name for the powdered root of the Greater Galangal or Siamese ginger (from the Ginger family). It is so delicate in flavour that it can be omitted from recipies.
