Landon Carter (Lucy) Pearson, BA , MEd , LLD , DU (born November 16 1930 ) is a former Canadian Senator and Children's Rights advocate.

In 1974 she cofounded Children Learning for Living, a prevention program in children's mental health. She has also been as school trustee and has been involved in community child care programs in New Delhi and Bombay .

In 1979 , she was Vice-Chairperson of the Canadian Commission for the International Year Of The Child and edited the Commission's report, ''For Canada's Children: National Agenda for Action''. Among her recommendations were increased financial support for battered women's shelters, funding for unwed mothers seeking to go to school, amendments to the Income Tax Act to allow a greater deduction for child care costs and laws requiring care seat restraints for infants.

From 1984 to 1990, she was president, then chairperson of the Canadian Council on Children and Youth and was a founding member and chairperson of the Canadian Coalition for the Rights of Children.

Pearson was appointed to the Senate in 1994 by Jean Chrétien and sits with the Liberal Caucus .

She is married to Canadian diplomat Geoffrey Pearson , the son of former Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson and Maryon Pearson . Geoffrey and Landon's daughter Patricia Pearson is a journalist for '' The National Post ''.

Pearson retired from the Senate on November 16, 2005 upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 75.
