Lance Henriksen (born May 5 , 1940 in New York City ) is an American Actor and Potter . His trademarks as an actor are his deep, gravelly voice and chiseled, weathered face.

Henriksen first appeared in the film ''It Ain't Easy'' in 1972, and made his first major appearance in '' Dog Day Afternoon '' a few years later. When James Cameron was writing the movie '' The Terminator '', he had originally envisioned Henriksen playing the title role (to the point where Cameron had painted a picture of The Terminator using Henriksen's face, as well as having him dress-up as the character and go to an Orion Pictures production officer in character), however, it would later go to Arnold Schwarzenegger . Henriksen did appear in the film in the minor role of Detective Hal Vukovich. He would later go on to play an artificial life-form, Bishop in '' Aliens '' (a character he would go on to play in the third film in the series). He later played Charles Bishop Weyland, the man Bishop's appearance was based on, in '' Alien Vs. Predator ''.

In 1996, Henriksen starred in the TV Series '' Millennium '', produced by the creators of '' The X-Files ''. He played Frank Black, a former FBI agent who can see into the minds of murderers. The series was cancelled in 1999. Henriksen has recently acted in the ensemble of '' Into The West '', a Miniseries executive-produced by Steven Spielberg .

He is also the voice of the character 'Molov' in the video game Red Faction II which was developed by Volition Inc. and published by THQ .


TRIVIA

  • Henriksen was illiterate until the age of 30.

  • While Bill Paxton is the only actor killed on screen by an Alien , a Predator and a Terminator , Lance Henriksen is a close second. In Aliens , his character (an android) is severely damaged by an Alien and "dies" in the following film.
