North West England
|
will be a
Constituency represented in the
House Of Commons of the
Parliament Of The United Kingdom . It will elect one
Member Of Parliament (MP) by the
First Past The Post system of election.
Following their review of parliamentary representation in
Lancashire , the
Boundary Commission For England created a new constituency in
Wyre And Preston North . This splits the current link of
Lancaster And Wyre . As a consequence, Lancaster and the coastal town of
Fleetwood have been attached for future parliamentary purposes.
The new seat of Lancaster and Fleetwood was subject to public consultation following the decision to create a new seat in Lancashire, which caused major consequential changes to the central and southern parts of the county. During the consultation process, the
Wyre ward of Cabus was moved from Lancaster and Fleetwood to Wyre and Preston North.
The electoral wards which are used to create the new seat come from the City of
Lancaster and the borough of Wyre.
- From Lancaster, the wards of Bulk, Castle, Duke's, Ellel, John O'Gaunt , Lower Lune Valley, Scotforth East, Scotforth West and University.
- From Wyre, Mount Part, Pharos, Pilling, Preesall, Rossall, Warren and Wyresdale.
The new seat of Lancaster and Fleetwood will be fought for the first time at the
UK General Election Of 2009 Or 2010 .
