is a low ridge in the surface of
Mare Tranquillitatis . It has the shape of a distorted
Crater rim that has been covered by
Lava flow. Lamont is located to the southeast of
Arago Crater . The ridge system is only a few hundred meters in height, with a width that averages 5
Kilometers but is thicker to the southeast. Various wrinkle-ridges radiate from the crater rim, and lie across the floor, forming an extensive ridge system on the
''maria'' . This feature is only readily visible at low angles of illumination, when shadows hilight the terrain features.
