Lambda Gamma Epsilon, Kings Fraternity is one of the six social fraternities at Otterbein College . It was founded in 1948 by Raymond Pope and Ford Swigart. Founding On January 6 , 1948 , the administrative and organizational details were started, and on January 13 , the idea became reality. Lambda Gamma Epsilon was born. The original chapter consisted of the founding fathers, and the following members, who are known as the Charter Members: Jim Miles, Ron Smith, Carl Vorpe, Glenn Waggamon, Donald Bloomster, Ed Cline, Forest Cole, Arthur (Bohse) Fulton, Coby Jenkins, and Roy Feldin. The brothers chose the Greek letters of Lambda Gamma Epsilon because, according to Ford Swigart, ""the letters were different than any others on campus and they sounded good together."" The group soon became known as the ""Kings,"" since most of them worked in King Hall. The very first meetings were held in King Hall, but were soon moved to the Association Building, which sat on the south-east corner of the Towers lot. |
