The 1935 leadership election took place on 26th November 1935 when Herbert Morrison and Arthur Greenwood challenged the incumbent party leader of only 1 month and 1 day Clement Attlee . Both of the candidates though it was unfair that Clement Attlee was elected leader with no leadership contest.

The first round of the contest took place on 26th November 1935 :

Herbert Morrison 44
Arthur Greenwood 33
Greenwood is elimenated from the race .
