It is also known as "KBS Kyoto" (KBS京都) as a TV station and radio station, and "KBS Shiga"(KBS滋賀) as a radio station. It broadcasts many TV programs and many radio programs. It is a network Radio Station of National Radio Network (NRN) and a local TV station. The radio broadcasting area of the station is in Kyoto Prefecture and Shiga Prefecture , and the TV broadcasting area is Kyoto Prefecture. Since April 1 2005 , KBS has started Digital Television broadcasting on ISDB format.
