Kyle Jason is the host of ''The Kyle Jason Show'' on Air America Radio . The program is broadcast every Saturday from 10pm-midnight EST . What if Sam Cooke and Jackie Wilson were here today? What do you say to an artist that can put up the elements of Jaaaaaames Brown, D,Angelo, R. Kelly, Tupac Shakur and Prince and can do the press like a Muhammad Ali circa1965? This is a baaaad maan. Man, a simple description of who he is and what he is, is all but simple. He's something increasingly missing in today's world of R&B, hip-hop, and most of all...soul. A man who will work a crowd to a sweaty exhilarating exhaustion. And rap a lil bit too. Fever pitch at best describes the ability of KYLE 'ICE' JASON. Rarely does a musical cat come with all the complete tools of artistry including songwriting, production, and the pipes to sing. In these times where many artists are signed without development and rites of passage, the trenches have guerilla honed this mans skills across the board. At the edge of a young 3-0 his abilities in the studio also reflects the sign of the times. This artist that can do it all, even the engineering part. For the past 8-10 years he's been a writing and recording mainstay in Chuck Ds camp of 4 studios in America. Having grown up in the Long Island NY area, his abilities were witnessed early in the nineties totally wrecking talent shows and local club audiences with a torrid mix of original and classic performed songs. "I seriously thought I was thrown back into the sixties based on the screaming crowd reaction. He commanded the crowd and I simply wanted him to work with me" He honed his skills writing TV and radio commercial jingles as well as film compositions and background vocal pieces to make a living. With all of this he's shared Chucks vision of performing a show for a worldwide stage. Finally he was slated to be the top choice to spread this new black music in a world way on Chucks 1996 SLAMjamz urban label attempt through the major conglomerate of SONY Music. With this evolved the masterpiece 'Generations' album. This work was critically acclaimed in 1997 stateside, but the failing of SONY to work the record internationally first hastened Chuck to move his label from the major system. "For years I'd helped pave the roads for the new urban music. And my vision of having artists work and constantly hit the roads of Europe, Asia, Australia, while breaking new ground in Africa and South America, were surprisingly not understood or met by the big international conglomerate" says Chuck. "With this impossibility I decided to move and plan independently and Kyle thankfully shared the vision to roll with me." Now they say hip-hop, R&B, and soul is the new 'rock' of young people across the world, but cats like KYLE JASON are dismayed by the laziness of American acts once they 'blow up ' in America. "They're the products of a machine." says KYLE. "And they run when they see a superior performing force. Their underdevelopment makes it better for me when I take the stage and that's when the people see the true essence of what this thing is all about...thus I will non stop scour the planet with my music. I crave the road." Since 1997, he's recorded countless styles and tunes and vaulted them, ala Prince, who he met, sang, and produced with on a visit to Paisley Park Studios in 1998. Touring, writing, and recording with the likes of George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Frankie Beverly and MAZE, Mavis Staples, the Barkays, and John Mellancamp have readied his chops and has gotten him approval by legends. Appearances on national TV shows musically this fall 2003, a few independent films as a sharp actor in growth, and public speaking engagements add to this profile. Now its time to be distributed record wise again and this time the world is open to the urban music thang like never before. Independently there is opportunity but only if the work is met with no free rides or styles. There are things that the people wanna see and hear from artists today, and the crowd is not getting it. They just need a dynamo to take it to em. KYLE JASON provides that dynamic with an attitude of a rapper. "I'll tell you what" says KYLE, from his hometown Roosevelt NY Icehouse Studios where he cuts tracks and new music daily, "When my music comes out not only will it speak for itself because I'm out to make, sing and produce smash hits simple and plain, but the world press wise will be at my door hearing things that haven't been said in years by most these soft so called lazy and fat R&B artists. Socially, philosophically, spiritually I plan to speak loud and connect the countries of the world in the best of the human offering soul wise, and just simply take it to the song and stage. I welcome the challenge and anybody who really wants to witness this next level". With this in mind KYLE JASON is set upon his mission to take it wherever, however ... different language versions, producing other artists, training arrangements, collaborations with this 'new' urban explosion of black music yet having the knowledge, skill, and ability of other genres. "It all comes from the root of the blues which is the milk of rock and roll. The attitude of a rock star and pain, work, and commitment of a soul man is what I'm bringing to the new music table in 2004. I owe this to the legends since this music is connecting the souls of people no matter there race, nationality, color, or creed. In the words of the rapper Rakim its time to move the crowd."
