GEOGRAPHY Klickitat is located at 45°48'59" North, 121°9'50" West (45.816412, -121.163790). According to the United States Census Bureau , the CDP has a total area of 6.7 Km&2 (2.6 Mi&2 ). 6.7 km&2 (2.6 mi&2) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 417 people, 147 households, and 110 families residing in the CDP. The Population Density was 62.4/km&2 (161.9/mi&2). There were 173 housing units at an average density of 25.9/km&2 (67.2/mi&2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 92.33% White , 0.24% African American , 3.60% Native American , 0.96% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.00% from Other Races , and 2.88% from two or more races. 2.64% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 147 households out of which 43.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.5% were Married Couples living together, 10.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.5% were non-families. 21.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.84 and the average family size was 3.28. In the CDP the population was spread out with 35.5% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 26.4% from 25 to 44, 20.6% from 45 to 64, and 9.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 30 years. For every 100 females there were 84.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.9 males. The median income for a household in the CDP was $28,750, and the median income for a family was $29,688. Males had a median income of $30,500 versus $16,250 for females. The Per Capita Income for the CDP was $11,717. 29.7% of the population and 27.8% of families were below the Poverty Line . 32.5% of those under the age of 18 and 11.5% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
