Information About

Kingston Frontenacs (ephl)

The Kingston Frontenacs of the Eastern Professional Hockey League (EPHL) were a minor professional team affiliated with the NHL's Boston Bruins . The team played from 1959 until 1963 , winning the EPHL Regular Season Championship in 1962-63. When the EPHL folded in 1963, the franchise was transferred to the new Central Hockey League as the Minneapolis Bruins.

The "Frontenacs" name has a long history in Kingston, and is in refrerence to Louis De Buade De Frontenac , governor of New France who established Fort Frontenac on the site of present-day Kingston. Kingston is also the seat of Frontenac County .
