Kings Church Catford is a church that is situated on Catford Hill, in Lewisham, London, UK. Kings also plays a part in the New Frontiers family of churches, which is a worldwide family of churches. Also the church is a member of the Evangelical Alliance. The Church is led by Steve Tibbert and he has led the church since 1995. Kings runs lots of activities for different age groups, and courses such as the Alpha course. For preschool children there is a group called Rainbow which is run at the church on tuesday morinings. For children in years 7-13 there is Ignite which is a youth club that runs on friday nights at Kings. This is split into two age groups: 11-14's and the 15-18's. These groups also have weekends away, normally to Carroty wood, and also to newday in the summer. On sunday mornings Ignite ID is run for the 11-14 age group. Also the feast is an event run every tuesday evening for those who are homeless or disadvantaged and this helps these people with hot food, advice and other essentials such as sleeping bags and blankets. Also the church has two houses in which people can stay while they build themselves up and look for work. Also there is a group for those over 50 called Wednesday Welcome in which they can share each others company, have a meal, and listen to a talk. The Church meets every sunday at 9.15 and 11.15 and these services are open to everyone. The meetings start with worship in an informal style and people can contribute words that they are given freely.On sunday mornings there is a 0-1 group for babies, a 2.-3's and Promiseland for slightly older children. Also Kings Kids runs for the children, and Area 56 runs for children, as the name suggests in years 5 and 6. To find out more about the church go to the website |
