ORIGIN Kids and Kubs were founded in 1930 by a New York actress named Evelyn Barton Rittenhouse who was in St. Petersburg recuuperating at the time. They were originally called the Three Quarter Softball Club. TEAM INFO To be able to qualify for the team you must be 75 years of age or will turn 75 during your "rookie" year. The team plays 2 games a day, 3 days a week from November thru March at the North Shore Park ballfield in downtown St. Petersburg. BARRIERS BROKEN In December 2005, 83 year old John Gist became the first African American to join the Kids & Kubs. In 2004, Ethel Lehmann became the first woman to join Kids & Kubs. ADDITIONAL INFO
