''Khartoum Variations'' is the first release of 2006 by Avant- Folk / Blues Singer/songwriter Jandek , released by Corwood Industries (#0782). The recordings are alternate versions of eight of the nine songs from his previous album, '' Khartoum ''. Some fans have speculated on the Jandek/Corwood discussion group that ''Khartoum Variations'' may actually be an earlier, previously unreleased attempt at recording the same songs. Since Jandek/Corwood releases are notorious for their lack of information other than album/song titles and Corwood's copyright date and mailing address, and Corwood themselves do not reveal much information even when asked, this could not be confirmed.
