Information About

Kansas City Prophets

"Kansas City Prophets" was a term coined to refer to a group Minister s who were either based at Kansas City Fellowship (later Metro Vineyard Fellowship, KC , and more recently, Metro Christian Fellowship), under the leadership of Pastor Mike Bickle -- or who were associated with the church.

Senior amongst the group was ic ministers in the group were John Paul Jackson and Larry Randolph[http://www.larryrandolph.com/ . Most controversial was former 50's Revivalist Paul Cain whose ministry in the Prophetic spanned a number of decades. Other Prophetic ministries were friendly with the group, notably Rick Joyner[http://www.morningstarministries.org .

Initially, Pastor Mike Bickle was not convinced about Prophetic Ministry, and had been warned about a "false prophet" in the church, believing this to be Bob Jones. Eventually becoming convinced otherwise, the group developed in its methods and practices, until it emerged with some drama on the Charismatic scene, and became a driving force, feeding into and motivating the Apostolic-Prophetic Movement on a global scale.

In the late '80's, KCF formed links with the Vineyard , led by John Wimber , and this led to a broader arena of recognition, and several attacks by opponents. Eventually, some disciplinary and accoutability concerns were dealt with by John Wimber's associate, Dr. Jack Deere, although his investigation determined that many of the serious accusations against the groups were unfounded. Several of the Prophetic team later moved to other churches within the Vineyard and associated Third Wave Charismatic groups.
