Kangaroos

KangaROOS began in 1979 when Architect and Jogging enthusiast Robert Gamm wrestled with the problem of where to keep his loose Change and Key s during his daily 10k run. As necessity is the monther of invention, Gamm came up with a design for an athletic shoe with a small Zipper ed pocket.

Sporting America soon picked up on this innovation and in the spring of 1980, 10,000 pairs were sold in California alone. Follow-up orders quickly came in from all over America. To fulfill this incredible demand, the production of KangaROOS was bumped up to 700,000 pairs a month

The rest of the world took note of this phoenomenon too. Within a few years, these trendy Sneaker s with pockets were being exported to dozens of countries. In the meantime, Robert Gamm continued to perfect his sports shoes using the latest techniques. The NASA aerospace agency was even consulted for the development of a sole with revolutionary suspension system, the Dynacoil, which many will swear - is still better than anything else on the market today.

In 1985, Robert Gamm opened the KangaROOS Labratory & Gymnasium, a hight-tech institute of more than 10,000 square metres where Athlete s in every kind of sport had their shoes tested. This avenue allowed KangaROOS to make a gigantic leap forward in the development of sports shoes and top sport.

KangaROOS were considered the absolute ultimate in athletic footwear and made successful inroads into sports such as American Football , Basketball , Hockey , Tennis and Athletics .
