Information About

Jurassic Park River Adventure

The ride is Themed to represent the island environment featured in the Spielberg film. As the story goes, John Hammond has tried to set up another park, without all the bugs of the first. The ride starts as a jungle river cruise past huge Dinosaurs . After encountering a Brachiosaur and Stegosaur , the raft begins heading toward a part of the park known as Hadrosaur Cove. One of the duck-billed Hadrosaurs "bumps" the raft, causing it to begin drifting into the Raptor Containment Area, a section of the adventure that (according to voiceovers on the ride) had never successfully been integrated into the rest of the park. The raft passes by a replica of the Raptor Pen from Jurassic Park ; riders hear snarling Velociraptors in the dense foliage while branches move to simulate the creatures shifting behind the jungle.

Turning a corner, riders see the a large building looming ahead with a large lift hill ascending fifty feet. A "raptor container" hovers precariously over the entrance to the lift hill and drops at the last second, stopping inches from the raft. Dilophosaurs guard the interior of the building. As the raft follows a 180 degree turn, the snout of the Tyrannosaurus Rex looms in the distance. As the raft gets closer, the body of the T. Rex begins coming toward the raft. Just before the T. Rex snaps the raft, the raft plunges down an 85-foot drop to the pool below.
