Information About

Junior Eurovision Song Contest

The contest was formed after a Scandanavian contest in 2002, Melodi Grand Prix Nordic , with Denmark, Norway and Sweden as participants. The EBU picked up the idea for a junior contest, and asked Denmark to host the first real JESC.

Sweden, Denmark and Norway withdrawn for 2006 with the reason that the competition is too much press for the children. They returned to the old MGP Nordic, but Sweden will participate with the Swedish broadcaster TV4 . Another Danish broadcaster wasn't interested, maybe will Norway participate with another broadcaster as well.
