Jonathan Ansell was born in Bognor Regis on 10 March 1982. At eight, he joined The West Sussex Boy`s Choir and stayed until his voice broke when he lost the ability to sing treble at the age of 15. He toured with the choir to Florida, Germany, and France, and sang in the Royal Festival Hall . After puberty Ansell found out he had developed a high Tenor voice instead. He attended the Anglican Bishop Luffa Secondary School in Chichester. During this time he achieved his Grade 8 music exam at the tender age of 13. Progressing to the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He published a solo album in 2001 with his savings and formed the pop-opera boyband G-4 with Mike Christie , Matthew Stiff , and Ben Thapa , three other Guildhall students. They attended the ITV talent show "The X-Factor" and although they came second in the competition, signed a £1.5 million record deal with Sony-BMG. Their first album, titled "G4" was released in February 2005 and sold more than 600,000 copies, bringing it to double-platinum status. His singing in their covers of Queen 's " Bohemian Rhapsody ," REM 's " Everybody Hurts ," and Radiohead 's "Creep" has been said to be truly impressive. Mr. Ansell also turned down the role of Prince Tamino in Sir Kenneth Brannagh 's remake of Mozart 's " The Magic Flute " to stay with the band and continue recording. G4's second album. "G4 and Friends" was released in December 2005, and features duets with Cliff Richard and many others. EXTERNAL LINKS
