Information About

Jonathan's Space Report

The report was started in 1989 and typically contains all launches since the last report, International Space Station activities and space craft developements. Often, McDowell's reports contain corrections to NASA 's official web sites, or additional data on classified launches that isn't available elsewhere.

Associated projects on the JSF site are:
  • A Geostationary Satellite Log (a catalog of all known geosynchronous satellites and their current positions)

  • A Launch Log (intended to be a complete listing of all satellite launch attempts)

  • Satellite Catalog (a cross reference between catalog number and international designation)

Jonathan's Space Report has long campaigned for U.S. compliance with the UN Convention on Registration of Outer Space Objects (1975) and UN Resolution 1721B (1961).
