Jetavana was one of the most famous of the Buddhist monastaries in India. It was located just outside Shravasti . The site of Jetavana was donated by Anathapindaka to Buddha himself. It was originally owned by Prince Jeta. Anathapindaka covered the ground by gold coins to buy the land. This is frequently portrayed in Buddhist art. EXTERNAL LINKS
