He was born in New York City , and entered journalism in the 1930s, but is best known for his play '' My Sister Eileen '' and for the Musical comedy '' Wonderful Town '', which is based on it. Joseph Fields was his frequent collaborator. He was Blacklist ed during the McCarthy Era . His brother, Edward Chodorov (1904-1988), was also a playwright, author of the perennial favorite of amateur groups, '' Kind Lady ''. PLAYS
