Jason Biggs (born May 12 , 1978 in Hasbrouck Heights , New Jersey ) is an American Actor who obtained wide fame in 1999 for his role in the '' American Pie '' series of films. BIOGRAPHY He began acting at the age of five. In 1991 , he made his Television debut in the short lived Fox Network series ''Drexell's Class''. In 1991 also, Biggs debuted on Broadway . The play in which he worked, ''Conversations With my Father'', helped pave the way for Biggs to participate in the daytime Soap Opera , '' As The World Turns ''. He was nominated for the award of ''Best Younger Actor'' at the daytime Emmy awards for his role in that soap. Biggs attended New York University briefly from 1996 to 1997 , but soon afterwards, he returned to pursue his true, professional love of acting. And so he would be seen again in another short lived television series, 1997's ''Camp Stories''. Biggs did not do any other significant jobs until 1999's ''American Pie'', which went on to become an international hit that has spawned two sequels. After that, Biggs accepted starring roles in movies such as 2000 's '' Loser '' and others. Biggs has joked in interviews about the fact that he is often cast as an explicitly or implicitly Jewish character, as he was in ''American Pie'' (other examples include Darren Silverman or Jerry Falk) because of his features, although he is of Italian - Catholic descent. In 2004/05 season Biggs portrayed an Orthodox Jew in Daniel Goldfarb's comedy "Modern Orthodox" Playbill staged at Dodger Stages theater in New York. TRIVIA
